| REGISTRATION: | Mail in registrations must be postmarked on or before July 7, 2008. Please do not mail entries after this date. You may also sign up at John’s Run/Walk at 317 S. Ashland Ave., or New Balance Store, Woodhill Plaza, Lexington, anytime through Friday noon, July 18. Registration the day of the race will be taken from 6:30 a.m. till race time. |
| ENTRY FEE: | Early entry is $15. Registration after July 7th and on-site is $20. |
| PACKETS: | Runners registered by July 7th will have their packets with their race number mailed to them prior to the day of the race. Packets not mailed can be picked up the morning of the race. |
| AGE: | Age as of the day of the race, July 19, 2008 |
| FORMAT: | This will be a 5K (3.1 mile) footrace. |
| COURSE: | This course is on rolling paved streets and is “out & back,” starting and finishing by UK Commonwealth Stadium. Roads will be closed to traffic. There will be water on the course and times given at each mile. The race is open to all, but is a demanding physical event. In participating, you are agreeing that you are physically fit and sufficiently trained to finish such event. |
| AWARDS: | Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three in five year age groups. Awards will be presented immediately after the finish of the race. Top winners in each age group will receive a special “5K State Championship Award Winner” shirt. |
| SITE: | Start & finish on the north side of Commonwealth Stadium off Cooper Dr., Lexington. There is plenty of free parking. |
