Animal Round Archery Division – Saturday, June 11, 2011
ON-SITE REGISTRATION: Taken from 8am-1pm. Starting time begins around 8am after course is checked.
FORMAT: This consists of realistic, life-size and free-standing animal targets placed in a natural setting of woods and fields at unknown distances to simulate bowhunting shooting opportunities. Archers will shoot from designated colored stakes and scoring will be 12-10-8-5 with center 12’s unless stated otherwise at target station. Duplicate scorecards must be kept within shooter group and reconciled before turning in to the Tournament Director and all scorecards must be in by 5:30 pm. Awards ceremony to follow.

NEW TOURNAMENT FORMAT
FORMAT: – Known distance shooting at 3D targets. Thirty targets in a wooded setting with the distance to target marked for each of 5 different colored stakes (shooting positions). There will be one sign at the beginning of the shooting lane that will state the yardage to the target (+ or- 1 Yard). Scoring will be 12-10-8-5 with center 12’s unless stated at the target station. Duplicate scorecards must be kept within shooter group and reconciled before turning in to the Tournament Director and all scorecards must be in by 5:30 pm. Awards ceremony to follow.
SHOOTER DESCRIPTIONS:
HUNTER B CLASS
A compound, recurve, or longbow with or without sights, may be shot with release aid, finger tab, glove or bare fingers. Sights (both aiming sections i.e.: rifle style) are fixed, and not adjusted while on the range. If a sight is used it will have no more than four (4) fixed or crosshair style pins. Circle pins allowed if all circles are the same size. No Arrow restrictions and only one (1) single stabilizer being less than twelve (12) inches in length from the nearest point of attachment to the end may be used. Will be shot from the yellow stake.
FEMALE HUNTER CLASS
A compound, recurve, or longbow with or without sights, may be shot with release, finger tab glove, or bare fingers. If a sight is used it will have no more than four (4) fixed or crosshair style pins. Circle pins allowed if all circles are the same size. No Arrow restrictions and only one (1) single stabilizer being less than twelve (12) inches in length from the nearest point of attachment to the end may be used. Will be shot from the yellow stake.
HUNTER FINGERS
A compound, recurve, or longbow with or without sights, may be shot with finger tab, glove or bare fingers. If a sight is used it will have no more than four (4) fixed or crosshair style pins. Circle pins allowed if all circles are the same size. No Arrow restrictions and only one (1) single stabilizer being less than twelve (12) inches in length from the nearest point of attachment to the end may be used. Will be shot from the yellow stake.
HUNTER A CLASS
Archers in this class must use the same equipment as the Hunter B Class. Will be shot from the red stake.
MALE COMPOUND UNAIDED
A compound bow with no sighting device. A rest and plunger are all that may reside within the sight window. There will be no markings on the bow or bowstring that could be construed as sighting marks. Must be shot with a glove, finger tab or bare fingers. Must be shot from the yellow stake. Note: string walking & face walking are not allowed in this class.
MALE BOWHUNTER RELEASE
A compound bow, recurve or long bow with no restrictions on stabilizers or style of release. Cross hair style pins are allowable as fixed pin sights. Circle style pins are allowable (if circles are of one size). Sights that utilize any lens, with or without magnification are not allowed in MBR class. Sights may not be adjusted while on the range during a tournament. Must be shot from the green stake.
FEMALE BOWHUNTER RELEASE
A compound bow, recurve or long bow with no restrictions on stabilizers or style of release. Cross hair style pins are allowable as fixed pin sights. Circle style pins are allowable (if circles are of one size). Sights that utilize any lens with or magnification are not allowed in the FBR class. Sights may not be adjusted while on the range during a tournament. Must be shot from the green stake.
MALE BOWHUNTER OPEN A
A compound bow, recurve or long bow with no restrictions on sights, stabilizers, or style of release. Must be shot from the orange stake.
MALE BOWHUNTER OPEN B
A compound bow, recurve or long bow with no restrictions on sights, stabilizers, or style of release. Must be shot from the green stake.
FEMALE BOWHUNTER OPEN
A compound bow, recurve or long bow with no restrictions on sights, stabilizers, or style of release. Must be shot from the green stake.
MALE SENIORS – AGES 50 AND OVER
Optional class for any shooter 50 years of age or older. May shoot any type of equipment or style with no restrictions. Must be shot from the green stake.
FEMALE SENIORS – AGES 50 AND OVER
Optional class for any shooter 50 years of age or older. May shoot any type of equipment or style with no restrictions. Must be shot form the green.
MASTERS CLASS
Optional class for any shooter that reaches the age of sixty years old or older. May shoot any equipment or style with no restrictions. Will be shot from the green stake.
FUTURE BOWHUNTERS – AGES 8 AND UNDER
Any type of equipment or style. Maximum shooting distance of 15 yards.
CUB 9-12 YEARS OF AGE
May shoot any type of equipment or style. Must be shot from the white.
YOUTH FINGERS 13-17 YEARS OF AGE
YF is an optional class for male or female archers 13-17 years old.
A compound, recurve, or longbow with or without a sight. If a sight is used, it can be fixed pins, moveable sight, and scope or laser type sight and must be shot with a glove, finger tab or bare fingers. Must be shot from the yellow stake.
FEMALE YOUTH 13-17 YEARS OF AGE
A compound, recurve, or longbow with no restrictions on sights, stabilizers, or style of release. Must be shot from the yellow stake.
YOUTH MALE RELEASE 13-14 YEARS OF AGE
A compound, recurve or longbow with no restrictions on sights, stabilizers, or style of release. Must be shot from the yellow stake.
YOUTH MALE RELEASE 15-17 YEARS OF AGE
A compound, recurve or longbow with no restrictions on sights, stabilizers, or style of release. Must be shot from the green stake.
NOTE: STRING WALKING & FACE WALKING WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE FOLLOWING CLASSES.
LONGBOW
A Longbow with no sighting device. Arrow should be shot from the shelf or hand with no elevated rest. Only a piece of leather or similar material 1/8 inch thick or less shall be allowed on the arrow shelf. There will be no markings on the bow or on the bowstring that could be construed as sighting marks. There will not be any type of draw check or clicker on the bow or string. There may be only one nocking point on the string. Must be shot with glove, finger tab or bare fingers. No stabilizers or counter balances shall be allowed. While shooting the archer shall touch the arrow with the index finger against the nock, and using a single anchor point. Arrows shall be made of wood and identical in length, weight, and color. Must be shot from the white stake.
RECURVE UN-AIDED
A recurve or long bow with no sighting device. A rest and plunger are all that may reside within the sight window. There will be no markings on the bow or on the bowstring that could be construed as sighting marks. There will not be any type of draw check or clicker on the bow or string. There may be only one nocking point on the string. Must be shot with glove, finger tab or bare fingers. The arrow shall be of the same material and in uniform length and weight. There shall be a single stabilizer not in excess of 12 inches from the front of the bow. While shooting the archer shall touch the arrow with the index against the nock using a single anchor point. RU will be shot from the white stake.
FEMALE TRADITIONAL
A recurve or long bow with no sighting device. Arrow should be shot from the shelf or hand with no elevated rest. Only a piece of leather or similar material 1/8 inch thick or less shall be allowed on the arrow shelf. NASP FEMALE 9-13 YEARS OF AGE
Must follow NASP equipment, Genesis bow, full length arrows, no sights and no release. Must be shot from the white stake.
NASP FEMALE 14-17 YEARS OF AGE

RULES: Bluegrass Games Archery Committee to govern both marked and unmarked yardage Animal Round Divisions. Range finding is prohibited. All distances to targets will be judged by the naked eye. Binoculars will be allowed, but may be checked at random by a tournament official, or if requested by another competitor. Littering the grounds is considered unsportsmanlike and will not be tolerated. Anyone seen littering will be immediately disqualified from the tournament.
