Youth Fast Pitch:
SITE: Lexington and surrounding counties
AGE: Age as of December 31, 2009
SANCTION: All teams playing by NSA rules must be NSA sanctioned and be able to produce their NSA sanction number.
RULES: NSA rules to govern all fast pitch divisions.
FORMAT: This is a 3 game guarantee tournament. Game time limit is 1 hour and 15 minutes. In case of inclement weather, a single elimination format may be used. 8U will be a 1 hour game time limits.
EQUIPMENT: All teams age 18 and under must wear helmets. Each team is responsible for providing their own helmets. All batting helmets must be equipped with face guards.
ROSTERS: Rosters will be a maximum of 20 players. FREE t-shirts to each player and 3 coaches per team. Please include your sizes. DO NOT MAIL ROSTERS in with your entry. All rosters need to be turned in at the site of your first game. Any additions to team rosters will not be accepted after the first game is played. They must have a parent (if under 18 years) or player’s signature stating that they have read the Medical Consent Agreement and Waiver found on the individual entry form or the player cannot play. In order for the entry to be accepted in the tournament, it must include the following when sent to the BGSG office: (1) ALL information completed on the entry form with the exception of the roster. (2) The total number of t-shirts for your team and the correct sizes.(3) The correct entry fee Proof of age (driver’s license, birth certificate or hospital certificate) is required for all Youth Divisions. All participants must be Kentucky residents. Youth and adults must be able to provide driver’s license or proof of KY residency upon request.
DIVISIONS: All division will have a maximum limit of entries allowed. All entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. There must be a minimum of four teams in order to play.
Adult Divisions
SITES: Lexington – various parks TBA and Richmond – Lake Reba (Gibson Bay Golf Course/Park) Eastern By-Pass
AGE: You must be 16 years old the day of the tournament or older to participate in the adult divisions.
SANCTION: All teams playing by NSA rules must be NSA sanctioned and be able to produce their NSA sanction number.
AWARDS: NSA will offer a non-paid World Series bid for men, coed and church.
RULES: National Softball Association (NSA) or Amateur Softball Association (ASA) rules to govern slow pitch divisions as dictated by site in list above.
HOME RUN RULE:
Men’s Class C & Up – 2, With 1 up rule
Men’s Class D – 1, Next one is an out and then start progressive penalty
Men’s Class E – 0, Progressive penalty on all home runs
Women’s Class C/D – 2, All over limits are outs
Men’s Church – 2, With 1 up rule
Co-ed – 2, With 1 up rule
EXCEPTIONS AND/OR CLARIFICATIONS:
- All Adult divisions will start with a 1-1 count.
- Divisions playing NSA will have an arch limit of 6-10. The ball must be delivered with an arc and reach a height of at least 6 feet from the ground, while not exceeding a maximum height of 10 feet from the ground.
- Divisions playing ASA will have an arch limit of 6-10. The ball must be delivered with an arc and reach a height of at least 6 feet from the ground, while not exceeding a maximum height of 10 feet from the ground.
- The dimensions of the official diamond for the Men’s Divisions will vary due to field limitations. The Men’s Division at NSA sites will have base paths of 70 feet and a pitching distance of 53 feet.
- Non-Approved Bats: Current non-approved bats as of date of tournament. The BGSG reserves the right to ban immediately any bat if the BGSG believes in any way, shape or form that a particular bat is dangerous and/or not acceptable for fair and safe play.

EQUIPMENT: For NSA play, you can go to www.PlayNSA.com and click on “Approved Equipment.” This will be especially helpful if you have any question as to if a certain bat is approved or non-approved. Men’s teams MUST supply their own NSA approved Optic Yellow Balls 44/400 (If needed, balls will be on sale at fields.)
